What is an area model and standard algorithm

An area model is a drawn out strategy that you can multiply the rows and columns and a standard algorithm is also multiplication but you multiply vertically with numbers .Its good to use both when solving a multipliction problem . Your welcome!!!

The area method, also sometimes called the box method, is an alternative to the standard algorithmic method (see below) for long multiplication. Both these methods use the distributive law for multiplication but they differ in how the partial products are calculated and written.
