Two different procedures have been proposed for assembling a new telephone set. The
question is; is there a difference in the meantime to assemble the phone set. The first
procedure is (Procedure 1) and the second is (Procedure 2). To evaluate the two proposed
methods, it was decided to conduct a time and motion study. A sample of five employees was
timed using procedure 1 and six were timed using procedure 2. The results in minutes are shown below,
