Im failing math and my mom is about to ground me

When you solve a system by graphing, your answer will be any intersects the lines have. If they never intersect, there are no solutions. If they are exactly the same line, there are infinite solutions. And if there’s one intersection, there’s 1 solution.

With that being said, here are the steps to solve the problem:

1) sub in 0 for x for each equation. This will give you the Y intercept.

2) Once you have the y intercept, get the slope. This will allow you to graph the rest of the line and see where they intersect.
The slope will always be the term attached to the X. So, if it was 1/2x, your slope would be 1/2.

3) Interpret the slope. Slope is always rise over run. Going off the previous example, 1/2 would mean you go up one unit (rise) and to the right two units (run). If it’s negative, the same principles apply. Do this in both directions until you have a line.

4) See where they intersect. Make sure to point this out by drawing a dot on the exact location.
