WOODSHOP MATH WORK (PLEASE HELP)
Today we selected our walnut. We laid out the cuts to be made by checking to see if 4 pieces could be cut out of the big, rough stock board. The rough stock board was 8 3/4" wide, the pieces we need to cut are: 1-3/4", 1-3/4", 1-3/4", 2+". if for every table saw cut we make we lose 1/8" (extra woodcut off during cutting for the saw blade kerf) how much wood is leftover for if we make 3 cuts? (the exact size of the 2+" piece that remains?
How much is left over if our milled stock is 8-11/16" wide?
