Part A: The Cougar Bakery is trying to increase productivity. To maximize efficiency it is important to determine current production levels. Last Tuesday the shop sold 45 cakes. The head baker, who arrives every morning at 5:30 AM, was able to complete the order by 8:30 AM. She was assisted by the apprentice baker who arrived at 7:00 AM. On Thursday there were orders for 102 cakes. On Thursday the apprentice was scheduled to come in at 7:00 AM. Together they were able to complete the order by noon. It should be noted that each employee did take a 30 minute lunch. To monitor efficiency we need to determine the average number of cakes that can be baked in an hour by each employee. The owner wishes to see this data algebraically. Summarize your findings about the productivity of each employee.
