Write this as an expression: sarah has a rain gauge in her backyard. she started on monday with 1/4 inch of water in her gauge. on tuesday, it rained and additional 2 1/2 inches. on wednesday, the sun was very hot and she noticed that 1/4 inch of water had of that water had evaporated. on thursday, there wasn't any rain and none of the water of operated. on friday, it rained 1/2 inches. i have that answer. it is 2 2/4 plus 1/4 plus 2/4 is 3 1/4. use that expression to find the total amount of water in sarah's rain gauge on friday. show each step and explain the properties that were used.
