Solution :

Let, cost of one bag of windflower bulbs and crocus bulbs is x and y.

Converting given statement to mathematical equation, we get :

5x + 5y = 145

x + y = 29    ...1)

and

3x + 5y = 121    ...2)

Solving equation 1 and 2, we get :

3( 29 - y ) + 5y = 121

87 - 3y + 5y = 121

2y = 34

y = 17

and x = 12

Therefore, cost of one bag of windflower bulbs is $12 .
