Anyone have anime recommendations ?

I have never listened to Anime but I asked this question this question on Reddit, I will read some.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Attack on Titan are the ultimate gateway anime and they're amazing. There's also the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist series which predates Brotherhood and has storyline that are different from Brotherhood because the Manga wasn't completed yet, still great imo.

How does this sub feel about Avatar:The Last Airbender, because even though it isn't a Japanese series, it's phenomenal.
