Of the 500 students:

Honor: 205

Got Math Class: 125

Didnt: 80

Not: 295

Got Math Class: 215

Didnt: 80

Lets say our 100% are 205 and 295, for honor and nor honor roll students.

Honor:

125 is x percent of 205

125/205 = 0.6098

0.6098 * 100 = 60.98

In the honor roll students, 60.98% got the math class they requested.

100 - 60.98 = 39.02

39.02% did not get the math class they requested.

Not Honor:

215 is x percent of 295

215/295 = 0.7288

0.7288 * 100 = 72.88

In the not honor roll students, 72.88% got the math class they requested.

100 - 72.88 = 27.12

27.12% did not get the math class they requested.

Using the data we collected, we can assume honor roll students do not have a better chance at getting the class they requested. In fact, we found out that the students not in honor roll had a higher chance of getting their requested class.
