Joseph works two jobs to earn a bit of money during the summer. he mows lawns (x) with his dad’s company for $14/hr and he works at a daycare (y) for $12/hour. his schedule only allows him to work 46 hours per week over the summer. to cover phone bills, car insurance and gas, and adding $200 weekly into his savings, he must earn at least $500.

c) if he worked 20 hours with his dad and 18 hours at the daycare, could he cover his monthly expenses? if yes, how much extra money does he earn? if no, how much is he short by? (2 points)

d) if his dad says that he can mow lawns for 12 hours at most (because it’s too hot over the summer), what is the fewest number of hours he’d have to work at the daycare? (2 points)
