Aclub basketball team will play a 60-game season. thirty-two of these games are against class a teams, and 28 are against class b teams. the outcomes of all the games are independent. the team will win each game against a class a opponent with probability .5 and it will win each game against a class b opponent with probability .7. let x denote its total number of victories in the season.(a) what is the relationship between xa, xb, and x? is x a binomial random variable? (b) approximate the probability that the team wins 45 or more games this season. x=xa+xbxa is a binomial random variable with n=32 and p=0.5xb is a binomial random variable with n=28 and p=0.7px(k)=∑a=0kp(xa=a)p(xb=k−a)can i express px(k) as a binomial distribution somehow? also, i think it is possible to approximate p(x≥45) using a normal distribution by the central limit theorem, but i'm not sure how to apply it.

Researchers are conducting experiments to determine the role of alcohol in the development of depression. after the study is complete, they determine that the relative risk of developing depression is 1.55 with a 95 % ci of 1.2 -1.9. each group is then divided into nonsmokers and smokers. the relative risk for the nonsmokers is 1.12 with a 95% ci of 0.87-1.37. the relative risk for the smokers is 1.7 with a 95 % cl of 1.5-1.9. what type of bias may affect this study? a. procedure bias b. recall bias c. selection bias d. confounding e. lead-time bias
