Each year since 1991 the city of keene, nh, has held a pumpkin festival. anyone is
welcome to register and display their jack-o'-lantern. in the early evening they are lit
and the official count is announced. in 1992 keene set the guinness world record
for the most jack-o'-lanterns in one place in the us with 1,628, and the city has been
breaking its own record ever since.
