by tuesday morning, the fuel gauge showed there was half the amount of fuel in the tank as on monday morning.

on tuesday evening, mr. wilson added 2.5 gallons of fuel to the tank.

by wednesday evening, the fuel in the tank had decreased to of the amount in the tank after mr. wilson added fuel.
