a. weight of 1/5 square foot sample of wood = 1/2 lb

multiplying 5 on both sides we get ,

weight of 1 square foot sample of wood=1/2×5=5/2 lb

now, 1 square yard = 9 square feet

thus weight of sample of wood in 1 square yard = 9 ×weight of 1 sq
