you have to find the upper and lower bound of each measurement:

LB of 12 (nearest m) is 11.5m

UB of 12 is 12.5m

cuz anything between the bounds to the nearest metre will give 12

LB of 6 is 5.5

cuz any numbers between 5.5 and 6 rounded to the nearest whole number is 6

UB 6 is 6.5

cuz any numbers between 6 and 6.5 will round down to the nearest metre as 6

LB of 7 is 6.5

UB of 7 is 7.5

for the LEAST possible area you have to try and get the lowest possible value.

to get the lowest number, you have to do the LB - UB because a small number - a large number will give u a small number.

first find the area of the small rectangle and it has to be the largest area possible so you can minus a big number later on.

to do this multiply the upper bounds:

6.5 × 7.5 = 48.75 m squared

then find the area of the large square but this time you use the lower bounds.

11.5 × 11.5 = 132.25m squared

then minus these numbers.

132.25 - 48.75

= 83.5 m squared
