If we are given a set of the data then we find the mean, median and mode of data as:

Mean:

The Mean of data is defined as the average of the data i.e. we add up all the entries in the data and divide it by the total number of entries to obtain Mean.

Median:

Median of data is defined as the central tendency of the data.

We firstly arrange our data in ascending or descending order and obtain the middle entry of the data.

Mode:

The mode of the data is the entry corresponding to the highest frequency.

i.e. The mode is the number that occurred the most often.

For example we are given a data as:

2      3       3      5      7        2          2

We have total 7 entries.

The mean is defined as:

now we arrange our data in increasing order aS:

2      2      2   3   3     5    7

The median is the middle value in the data. (i.e. there are equal entries to its left and right)

I.e. Median=3

Now we could clearly see that 2 occurs most of the time (3 times).
