You have to subtract both sides by 64 and you will get,
-50 = 5z. Then divide both sides by 5, and you get -10 = z.

14 = 64 - 5z
(Move 5z to left by adding it's opposite to both sides)
5z + 14 = 64 - 5z + 5z
(eliminate opposites)
5z + 14 = 64
(Then move 14 to right side by adding it's opposite to both sides)
5z + 14 - 14 = 64 - 14
(Eliminate opposites)
5z = 64 - 14
(subtract numbers)
5z = 50
(divide both sides by 5)
5/5 z = 50/5
z = 10
