How many pairs of whole numbers can you find that have a sum of 12?

There are 7 pairs of whole numbers that have a sum of 12 (12 and 0,1 and 11,2 and 10, 3 and 9, 4 and 8, 5 and 7, and 6 and 6.

f(x) = - 2/3x + 5; f(5/2)

substitute 5/2 in for x:

f(5/2) = -2/3(5/2) + 5

simplify the right side:

f(5/2) = -5/3 + 5

f(5/2) = 10/3

f(5/2) = 10/3

the functions have the same rate of change i think. i narrowed it down to this answer and "the rate of change of tour 1 is greater" but i got it wrong using that answer so im assuming its the answer above. (this is a question i also answered from the iready site if anyone needs a reference)
