Use the compass and ruler to construct the perpendicular bisector of a line segment ab

Place the compass at one point and extend it halfway through the segment and draw an arc. Then use the same setting on the compass to draw another arc from point B. Then, use the ruler and the pencil to draw a line through the two points of intersection of the arcs. that is the perpendicular bisector. Hope this helps!
