Well the formula is 1/3 Bh so 6x6x4 is 144/3 is 48 so v=48 inches ^3 (cubed)
so the surface area is just the area of each part added together so the base is 36.
and the question leads us to believe all sides of the pyramid are equal despite what the picture may look like. so the formula for the area of a triangle is 1/2 bh so 6x8 because the slant height is what we're measuring so that's 48 but we take half so 24
