Marjorie Johnson was an 88-year old widow. Marjorie lived alone and had no family in the immediate area. Six years ago, Marjorie started taking painting lessons at the Edward Thurston Willington Art Academy. Marjorie paid $4,000 per year for lessons. Lessons were given every week on Thursday night. Mr. Willington repeatedly told Marjorie that she should continue her painting lessons. He represented that her artistic ability was improving, that she has tremendous potential, and that she was becoming an excellent painter.
