I feel like the death penalty can be truly the fit punishment at times but is flawed. For example, a guy died but was revived so he fought because technically he had died and had served a life sentence but he was alive at the moment and there were no laws or components of punishment that referred to anything that could be used to justify this.
Explanation:
In all reality I think that we should go back to the equal pain punishment where if you rob someone you get something valuable tooken away from you and if you shoot someone then you get shot exactly how you shot them. Also if you hang them they hang you and etc.
One problem with this is that this was ended due to the fact that the victim of a crime now has a say in the matter of punishment and in case of death the courts decide on the matter of punishment according to what is considered fair depending on the severity and impact of a crime. Technically if you mix these both together I think you would get a fair punishment.
Personally, I think that the death penalty can be a little harsh and makes us just as bad as them sometimes.
