Dollree Mapp was convicted of possessing obscene materials after an admittedly illegal police search of her home for a fugitive. She appealed her conviction on the basis of freedom of expression. In an opinion authored by Justice Tom C. Clark, the majority brushed aside the First Amendment issue and declared all evidence obtained inadmissible in a state court. The decision launched the Court on a troubled course of determining how and when evidence may be used in criminal prosecution. Justices Black, Douglas, and Stewart concurred. Justice Harlan, joined by Justices Frankfurter and Whittaker, wrote a dissenting opinion.

(A) Identify and define the rule of evidence the Court used in Mapp v Ohio.
(B) Identify and define which of Dollaree Mapp’s Constitutional protections the determined had been violated.
