Why was the brown v. Board of education case and ruling so important?

The ruling was a substantive turning point for just the legal-rights struggle in America. Yet transforming attitudes, minds for two decades of institutional bias will require far more than a decision from the nation's supreme court. Brown was originally experienced with reluctance, and strong opposition in most southern states. Development has been made more than half a century later yet Warren's trial dream hasn't been completely achieved.
