The United States Congress passed the GI Bill after soldiers returned home from World War II. This bill, which is still in existence today, helped to provide benefits to veterans of World War II. Here are some of the benefits these individuals could have received:

1) Home loans- Low interest home loans allowed veterans to buy houses for them and their growing families. This was used quite frequently, as millions of men returned home from the war to marry their girlfriends/fiances. From there, they started families leading to the largest generation in US history (known as the Baby Boomers).

2) Tuition assistance- This bill helped to pay for college or vocational schools/training. This would help veterans enter a new field after their service.
