While both organizations worked toward an international peace, many factors led to the success of the United Nations. President Roosevelt led the campaign to convince both political parties that such an organization was needed. Once the Senate approved, it was much easier to establish the necessity of the organization. In addition, with the emergence of World War II, many people (public and government) felt that this type of international peacekeeping organization was necessary.
