In New York City, Children’s Aid Society is Society is founded by Charles Loring Brace because he wanted to help poor children in the city. Many of them lived on the streets, orphanages or families who cannot take care of them. Brace aims to "place out" children in the West families who are able to take care of them and impart them good manners. Rural families are willing to help; in return, the children will help them do the daily routines in their farm. Sadly, sometimes the families appreciated the children only because of their labor.
