Without a list of statements with which to agree or disagree, i'll just post a few historical thoughts here about the bolsheviks.the communist movement in russia in the early 20th century was divided between groups that came to be known as the bolsheviks and the mensheviks. "bolshevik" means "majority" and mensheviks means "minority." so, among the communists, the bolsheviks had the larger base of support for their position. bear in mind, the communists as a whole at that time were far from any sort of "majority" among the overall population in russia. but they--especially the bolsheviks--were an activist group that would bring change to russia and bring the people along with them into a new form of state.the mensheviks were more aligned with original marxist thought, that revolutionary change toward a communist society was a historical inevitability and needed to follow the flow of historical processes. the bolsheviks believed it was a mistake to wait for historical processes to make revolution happen. they wanted to push the communist revolution and push it now. that is the approach that was taken, and the bolshevik revolution propelled russia into a new model of government and economy based on marxist/communist principles.
