What was the role of improved technology in european exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries?

European exploration began during 15th and 16 the century which gave birth to Age of Exploration. European explorers voyaged different places along with unknown to find riches and lands. The exploration and navigation were possible because of improved technology like a magnetic compass, astrolabe, sextant along with Mercator's projection maps to explore a somewhat accurate way. Ships like caravel help in voyaging for long-distance because of its two or three masts which helped explores in sailing fast and easy in seas.
