What effect did the printing press have on europe? it made it easier for priests to teach catholicism by giving them control over the production of the bible. it made it harder for people to publish works because of the difficulty in running the printing press. it enabled books to be printed quickly and inexpensively, making them available to commoners. it had a small effect in europe but a much more significant influence in the english colonies.
