What are two economic reasons for imperialism

There are a lot of factors on why Imperialism happened, and one of the factors is leaning on the economic side. Two economic reasons why Imperialism occurred were because leaders or the government at that time wanted to maximize their profits; because of this, they wanted to have high production while keeping their charges as low as possible at the same time. Another economic reason was that they wanted to have easy access and control over markets.
