How were the experiences of enslaved africans taken to brazil, the caribbean islands, and north america similar? throughout the colonies, most were made to work on large plantations. children born into slavery were generally released once they reached adulthood. in most cases, they were sold with one or more family members. as valued cargo, they were transported in mostly safe conditions.
