Why did latin american countries remain economically dependent on western nations where they were no longer political colonies

The main reason why Latin American countries remained economically dependent on western nations is because the Industrial Revolution led these western nations to requires massive amount of raw materials, many of which were exported from Latin America meaning Latin America found it difficult to develop other trades.

Primary sources are usually  more accurate and are written by someone who experienced it or witnessed it. secondary sources are those who heard of it after the fact that can lose details and or twist the event in a light that benefits them.
