According to jefferson, have the colonies been peaceful or chaotic?

Jefferson was a believer that the colonies had been slightly chaotic in the days leading up to the Revolution, but he was a firm believer that this was all in all a healthy thing.

According to my mann Jefferson, the colonies were a bit cray cray..! (Chaotic)

Do you have more info about it ? i doubt this is the answer because i don't have all the information but if trouble was brewing in a clinic maybe it was an argument as to which clinic was better or smth of that nature
