Gregory v. Chicago Case

The Gregory v. Chicago case surged from an activists' peaceful march against school segregation in Chicago. When the number of spectators increased and the police couldn't contain them, the police demanded the demonstrators to disperse, in order to prevent a civil disorder. However, the petitioners refused and the police arrested them.

In the case, the Supreme Court unanimously decided that demonstrations cannot be dispersed because of the unruliness of spectators.
