Go on strike. This is the typical route union workers take to bargain. Destroying property and writing letters to the government either backfire or do not turn the screws well enough, respectively. Becoming entrepreneurs 1) doesn't guarantee anything and 2) is unrelated to the "labor" of the currently occupation.
