100 POINTS Absolutism writing quiz.
You have just become the new king or queen over a new kingdom called Classroomia. Using your new royalty explain in your own words what absolutism and divine rights of kings is. Also explain how the people of Classroomia may place limits on your rule as king or queen through the passing of documents such as the Magna Carta, Petition of Rights, English Bill of Rights, and United States Bill of Rights. This will be a document that you are coming up with for your own kingdom. Explain how this document places limits on you as king or queen.
Directions: on the next page provided, use Times New Roman 12 font double spaced; (between this prompt and the rubric). Write your response as the new Monarch of Classroomia. Explain in your new kingdom what absolutism is and how the Divine Rights of Kings gives you authority. Then explain how the people of Classroomia might place checks on your power through the drafting of documents similar to those listed above. This is an entirely fictional kingdom so dates, names, etc. don’t matter. I am more concerned with if you can conceptualize Absolutism, Divine Rights of Kings, and historical documents. Use the rubric at the bottom to guide your writing. This will be how I grade your essay.
