History is simply the study of people. Nothing is more interesting than other people. Think about some of the mere
popular forms of entertainment in society today like reality television, professional sports, social media etc. It is all
about other people! Imagine you are in the cafeteria and you see a student throw a plate of spaghetti into another
student's face (very poor decision). Are you going to turn away before you see the reaction of spaghetti face? No
way! You want to know what happens. History is full of events and stories just as exciting as the spaghetü face
sage. It is about people and their reactions.

History is a subject that deals with studying people. History is important as it gives us a better understanding of happenings around the world.

By learning history, one will have a detailed picture of the society in the past and how past occurrences has shaped the present world. History also gives us an idea of how not to repeat the mistakes of the past and how to have a positive future.

History also tells one about himself or herself. With history, a person can read about their country and about their ancestry. Through history, we can also understand the culture of others. When we learn about others, we will then understand them better and also appreciate them.

Lastly, studying history can make us better citizens as it helps in promoting national identity. One learns about citizenship and this can help in shaping us and following the stated rules and regulations in the country.
