2. Why was slavery so important to the South?

The south made their living with agricultural, and needed people to pick cash crops for cheap. they found that they made great profits having slaves, as they picked without pay

Slavery was extremely profitable , it made many millionaires and with crops like tobacco and cotton it was the center of the economics and with that people who were doing labor in plantations kept the farms and resources running.

Opposition to the nra came to a head in 1935, when the conservative supreme court declared the agency unconstitutional, claiming the nra gave the executive branch regulatory powers that belonged exclusively to congress. this decision began a series of court decisions that overturned key elements of the new deal.
