Read over the following facts about King John .-John ruled England from 1166 to 1216.-During his rule, he lost many lands former English rulers had conquered.
-He took over the monarchy after the death of his well-liked brother, Richard I, also known as Richard the Lion heart.
-John was a poor soldier and he and his armies lost many battles.-John angered the pope to the point he was kicked out of the Catholic Church.
-Several English nobles rebelled against John and even planned to kill him.
-In 1215, John was forced to sign the Magna Carta which limited his power asking.
