Her ego kept her standing. Athena sat and wove the Parthenon and her contest with God Poseidon in a stunning work. Arachne on the other hand wove the Gods disrespectfully, full of weaknesses and fears. While Arachne's work was technically perfect, it lacked beauty for it's dismissive nature towards the Gods.
