She geographical features of Chesapeake was fertile land and large tobacco plantations, whereas the land was infertile and rocky in New England.Chesapeake had two social classes (the planter class and indentured servants), and New England was a tight community where everyone had close relationships and knew one another. The economy in Chesapeake was agriculture-based with tobacco being the only cash crop. The economy in New England, on the other hand, was diverse with more job specialization and money in forestry, timber, and fishing. Chesapeake also had indentured servants, while New England had no indentured servants meaning the Puritans did the labor themselves.
