Why did the findings of galileo frighten catholic and protestant leaders?

The Catholics taught that the earth was in the center of the universe, and that all things revolved around the earth.

Galileo found out that the earth revolved around the sun

if Galileo was right (which he was) others would question other teachings
which meant that more people would leave the Catholic Church
