The five constant relationships espoused by Confucious are as follows:

1. Parent (loving) to Child (reverent)
2. Dutiful Husband to Obedient Wife
3.Kind older sibling to respectful younger sibling  
4. Considerate older friend to deferential younger friend
5. Benevolent ruler to loyal subject

These were used as a means to keep order in society from the government to inner workings of the home.
