How did the arab muslims’ conquest of north africa affect trade routes?

The conquest of the Arabs of North Africa truly helped trade routes, especially for them. Because they were able to expand their trade through the Sahara Desert, they essentially controlled all of the trade routes in that region, as they were the only ones trading there. They established a major trade route, the Saharan Trade Route that was led especially by Muslim migrants known as Beduins who dedicated their lives to trade and travelled in caravans. 
The route was then soon connected to the rest of Africa and eventually the rest of the world's previously known trade routes.
