What was unusual about the people who made up the population of st. augustine, florida, in the early 1800s? most people who settled in st. augustine in the early 1800s were cubans who were escaping from an autocratic government. seminole raiders and slaves who had joined their cause made up the majority of the population of st. augustine in the early 1800s. in the early 1800s, st. augustine was declared "indian territory" and was home to the seminole tribes who had been removed from their lands. many different ethnicities made up the population of st. augustine including spanish, free african americans, seminole indians, and europeans.

overtime, the civil rights movement changed in a way that not only it benefited african-americans, but benefited other ethnicity's such as latinos, asians, or women too! that's why the results of the movement be called mixed.

the civil rights movement brought about tremendous changes. no longer were blacks denied the right to vote, to eat, shop, and swim where they , and more importantly, to attend integrated schools. despite its many accomplishments, however, the civil rights movement had its shortcomings. for example, many people, both young and old, lost their lives, homes, jobs, and families. still other individuals were so damaged by psychological trauma that they ceased being productive members of the community. the movement left intact the economic inequities that had contributed to the maintenance of segregation. and finally, racism remained alive and well long after the movement's end. like most movements of its kind, the civil rights movement left behind a mixed legacy of triumph and tragedy.

character development is the internal change an individual, a fictional one in this case, undergoes through the course of a story as a result of the conflict or conflicts that person encounters. options 1,2 and 5 don't offer much of this since they mostly just describe the momentary actions and reactions of edna pontellier. in kate chopin's the awakening we first meet edna as someone in a sort of semi-conscious state and completely unaware of her own feelings and ambitions. as the story progresses she becomes more self aware of these ambitions and gaining also the confidence to act on them on quotes 3 and (mostly on) 4 we begin to see these changes on her.
