The ancient Athenian government had two houses in their legislative branch, just like the United States has today.

In the United States we have the House of Representatives and Senate which make up our legislative branch. The House of Representatives has 435 members. A states representation in this part of Congress depends on their population. On the other hand, each state has 2 Senators regardless of their population.

Athens was a Greek empire that extended from Egypt to India. A Democratic system of administration was accomplished by the Athenians where residents were allowed to partake in the decisions of the regime. The legislative body was divided into three fragments namely the Assembly, the Council, and the Court.
