A) Adams-Onis Treaty with Spain
Explanation:
After the evacuation of the British from Florida, the Spanish and colonists from the newly formed United States began to arrive. A large number of new residents were lured by the conditions Spain offered to acquire land ownership. Other residents were escaped slaves, trying to get to a place where their U.S. masters would not be able to capture them.
Because of this, Florida became more Americanized instead of orienting itself to Spain. Finally, after several official and unofficial US military expeditions sent to this territory, Spain formally ceded Florida to the United States in 1821, pursuant to the Adams-Onis Treaty.
Andrew Jackson came to Florida in 1821 to establish power on behalf of the United States. There he found a wilderness with rare settlements of Native Americans, African Americans and Spaniards.
As a United States territory, Florida was especially attractive to people from the old Southern plantations in Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia, who came in large numbers. Since the status of the Territory has been granted, two Florida, East and West, have been merged into one entity.
