You could also ride it to faraway places and also to carry supplies to those places. You could sell the foals every year or so as well. A horse is also good for emergencies such as a snake bite. You could get to a doctor quicker if you rode a horse than if you rode a dozen chickens. A horse could also pull heavy machinery like a plow."
