How did the slave trade affect african state formation?

Slave Trade had a negative effect on the African state formations for the reason that while the Europeans were taking them to the new world, they would sometimes take people of high authority or reverence and therefore, destabilizing the order of how things were maintained in the community. 

It can provide a social code to protect each citizen's future economical earnings. and then obviously defending the country from invading countries.
